Over 20 Years of Ministry Over the Airwaves
In the Spring of 2009 we celebrated 20 years of what God has done through Straight From the Heart. Our show can be heard Sunday mornings from 7a-10a on 106.9 KROC-FM. You can also listen online at www.kroc.com. The goal of Straight From the Heart is to provide positive and encouraging music that points people to God and the hope He gives.

It Was May 1989 . . .
"I was listening to music on vinyl and cassettes, but CD's were just around the corner. Our daughter was 4 years old . . . our son was 14 months old. Artists like Petra, Amy Grant, DC Talk and Michael W. Smith were "HOT." It cost a quarter to mail a letter . . . a buck would buy a gallon of gas . . . and Straight From the Heart was on the air! The radio ministry of Rochester Area Youth for Christ was launched 20 years ago May 27, 1989, on 106.9 KROC-FM. I am deeply humbled that God continues to use me and this show to bring hope and encouragement to thousands of teens and adults each week." Gary Kadansky
Brian "Head" Welch was one of the founding members and guitarist of Korn, one of the biggest rock bands in the world. He left the band in 2005 after surrendering his life to Jesus Christ. Brian told me that a Christian friend had invited him to church and the message from Matthew 11:28 seemed solely aimed at him. In that verse Jesus says, "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
